Biographical notes
A famous Iranian Sufi who left Kerman at an early age and lived first in Baghdad, where he taught Shafi law at the Hakkâkiyye Medresesi. He later became a disciple of Rukn al-Din Sujāsī .and consequently connected teachings of Quṭb al-Dīn Abharī. and ʻAbd al-Qāhir ibn ʻAbd Allāh Suhrawardī, 1097-1168, being the former who introduced him to Sufism and inspired him to travel. During his travels, he met apparently with Ibn al-ʻArabī, 1165-1240 and later visited Anatolia at the beginning of the 13th century [1200-1215 CE] where his beliefs became influenced by other Sufi masters he met in his journeys. Among them Shams-i Tabrīzī -1247, Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī, Maulana, 1207-1273, Ṣadr al-Dīn al-Qūnawī, Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq, -1273 or 1274 and Fakhr al-Dīn Ibrāhīm ʻIrāqī, -1289?. He is considered as a shāhidbāzī Sufi because of his conception of mystical philosophy based on “the contemplation of the divine beauty in earthly forms, preferably in beautiful boys” (See (Weischer_Kirmani_ei2)). During the last years of his life he lived in Baghdad where he received the support of the ʿAbbāsid caliph Mustaʻṣim in 632 AH [1234-1235 CE]. The date of his death, according to Jāmī, 1414-1492, is 3 Shaʿbān 635 [1238 CE]
